Preparation

It is important to carry out a little preparation before building a website. It would also be useful to print this page to refer to while submitting a request.

If you follow the advice below you can submit your request in a couple of minutes.

1. Decide what you would like to appear on each page.

2. Type the content of each page into a file using an editor or wordprocessing program. Save each page to a separate file.
It is better to save the files in the same directory and note the directory - it will be important later.
Example: 
First Page	C:\My Documents\website\Page1.txt
Second Page	C:\My Documents\website\Page2.txt
Third Page	C:\My Documents\website\Page3.txt


Note: it is possible to type in the content of each page into a text box, but this is not recommended because it may lead to typing mistakes and other errors.

3. You will be asked for the following information
email address
A message will be sent to this address when you site is ready. Please use it in any contact with us - it is used to verify who you are and to identify your site. Remember that anyone who has access to your password or your email can change your site so it is important for you to prevent unauthorised access.
sitename
This is the name of your site and will appear across the top of every page.
theme
Pick a style to apply to your site from the list.
method
If you have already created files as described above, make sure the "I have file(s)" button is selected. If you want to type the content yourself (not recommended) then choose "I will type".
pages
Enter the number of pages in your site. There is a limit of 3 pages for a free site.

4. For each page within your site you will be asked for
title
This will appear at the top of each page, below the sitename.
content
This is where step 2 is useful. Click the browse button then find the file. Select the file and click OK.
If you have chosen to type in the content then enter this into the Content box.

5. Click the Continue button and a box will appear asking whether you agree to the Terms & Conditions.

6. If you accept the Terms & Conditions, press the Submit button to request your site.
Depending on the speed of your connection and the size of your files, you may have a short wait while your files are transferred to our server. For example, to transfer 30KB with a 56k modem takes about 10 seconds.
Within a few days you will receive an email containing the address of your site.
